PFC Cherno More Varna have completed the surprise acquisition of former Brazilian international striker Mario Jardel on a one-year deal.

The 36-year-old Jardel's career has included spells with FC Porto, Galatasaray AŞ and Sporting Clube de Portugal. He returns to Europe following a spell back in his homeland and is confident he can quickly find his stride in the Bulgarian A League. "I have not played at a high level for the past 14 months," said Jardel. "I am very ambitious and I have been successful everywhere I have played. My aim with Cherno More is to score lots of goals and win the Bulgarian league."
