Valletta FC have claimed the FA Trophy in Malta with a 2-1 win against Qormi FC, goals from Michael Mifsud and Terence Scerri earning them their second trophy of the season.
Valletta missed out on the league title but, having already won the one-off National League 100 Years Cup last month, they completed a unique double at the National Stadium. Mifsud beat Qormi goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia with a well-placed low shot on eight minutes, Scerri making it 2-0 13 minutes later with a neat finish.
Njongo Priso was fouled in the box on 65 minutes but missed the chance to add a third for Valletta, hitting the crossbar with the resulting penalty. Camilo Da Silva showed him how it was done at the other end, dusting himself off after being brought down by Valletta captain Gilbert Agius to finish from the spot. However, the Citizens were not to be denied the trophy.
