The National League 100 Years Anniversary Cup, which celebrates a century of competitive football in Malta, has reached the semi-final stage.
The tournament, which brought together the 52 member clubs comprising Malta's four Football Association-run divisions, is in celebration of 100 years of competitive football on the island. The Malta Football Association (MFA) is also commemorating half a century of membership of both UEFA and FIFA. Mosta face Floriana FC in the last four with Tarxien Rainbows FC and Valletta FC playing out the other semi-final tie ahead of the final on 14 April.
"The trophy, which will be presented to the winner of the competition organised by the Malta Football Association to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National League, is the work of artist Joe M. Micallef," MFA vice-president Ludovico Micallef told UEFA.com. "The trophy itself consists of a ball and the letter 'C', which represents the Latin 'centum' for 100."
