AC Milan took full advantage of FC Internazionale Milano's loss on Friday by defeating AC Chievo Verona 1-0 to reduce the Nerazzurri's lead at the top to one point.

Having hit the post through Ronaldinho, Leonardo's team seemed destined to end the evening frustrated until Clarence Seedorf sent San Siro into raptures with an effort which arrowed its way into the top corner. AS Roma, however, will be thinking of what might have been after twice surrendering the lead in a 3-3 draw at third-bottom AS Livorno Calcio, for whom Cristiano Lucarelli scored a hat-trick. The capital club trail Milan by five points.

Juventus were also guilty of letting a lead slip, albeit in more dramatic circumstances. The Bianconeri were three up after ten minutes against strugglers AC Siena thanks, in part, to two goals from Alessandro Del Piero. However, Massimo Maccarone (16) started a fightback which was completed by Abdelkader Ghezzal's second-half double. La Vecchia Signora remain fifth, a point behind US Città di Palermo after the Sicilian club lost 3-2 at Udinese Calcio.

UC Sampdoria, in sixth, were a denied a win which would have taken them level with Palermo by Andrea Raggi's 92nd-minute equaliser for Bologna FC. That 1-1 draw means Genoa CFC are only two points further back following their 5-3 defeat of Cagliari Calcio, a game which featured eight different scorers. Elsewhere, S.S. Lazio remain just outside the relegation zone after a 2-0 home defeat by AS Bari, while second-bottom Atalanta BC lost 1-0 at Parma FC.
