121 – New phase for Knowledge & Information Sharing Scenario (KISS)
UEFA and its 53 European member national associations are stepping up their cooperation for the overall benefit of European football. The Knowledge & Information Sharing Scenario (KISS), the learning platform first launched by UEFA in 2005, is now moving into a new phase, with the clear aim of enhancing professionalism within the national associations by addressing critical tasks and problems faced by football administrators and managers across Europe.
This comprehensive programme is based on networking and mutual sharing of expertise and know-how between UEFA and its 53 national associations. From marketing to media, from refereeing to stadiums and security, from legal issues to running events, the KISS platform is helping Europe’s national football associations evolve and meet the challenges presented by modern-day football.
By helping to bring together all the different cultures, ideas and knowledge under one educational programme, UEFA is helping to develop best practices in football management, and foster a collective
intelligence that will benefit European football as a whole.
The KISS programme is based on three main pillars:
1. Developing networking between Europe’s national associations.
2. Creating and sharing good practices in football management.
3. Providing individual assistance to national associations to fulfill specific needs.
Specialist areas that are targeted by the programme include; Football Operations, Football Governance, and Football Development.
UEFA holds workshops which bring together national association specialists to address specific topics and to share their ideas and know-how. The information gleaned through sharing knowledge at such
gatherings then serves to implement new and improved practices across Europe at association level.
The KISS programme makes good use of modern technology and the KISS online platform is an invaluable tool for storing, collecting and disseminating the information and know-how.
KISS is in the process of developing an E-learning module for individuals to develop a curriculum in football management, which leads to a diploma for successful candidates.
Caring about the European football family is an essential mission for UEFA and working together with its 53 member national associations to help develop, improve and deal with key issues in an efficient manner is now all made possible thanks to the Knowledge & Information Sharing Scenario (KISS) platform.
