Six days after securing the Swedish league title, AIK Solna completed the first double in their history by overcoming IFK Göteborg 2-0 in the Swedish Cup final at Råsunda Stadium.
Óbolo opener
IFK were the victims when AIK beat them 2-1 last Sunday to sew up the Allsvenska crown and they suffered a double of their own with defeat in the cup showpiece. Argentinian forward Iván Óbolo gave AIK the lead on their home ground when he pounced on a rebound from goalkeeper Kim Christensen in the 72nd minute, and the second goal also came from a South American, with Brazilian Antônio Flávio combining with Óbolo before curling the ball in to secure the result in added time. Afterwards, coach Mikael Stahre was able to look back on a perfect first season in the AIK hot seat. "I'm incredibly proud that we managed to win the double," he said. "It couldn't get any better than this."
