FK Mogren are celebrating winning their first league title in Montenegro after a 2-1 win against FK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje in the final round of fixtures allowed them to extend their winning advantage over second-placed FK Budućnost Podgorica.
Familiar sensation
Two points clear at the start of play, a draw would have been enough for Mogren to take the crown, but they beat the bottom side in the league in any case, with Bozo Milić scoring both goals. "I am delighted for the players," said coach Dejan Vukičević. "I won the title with FK Zeta two years ago so I know how this feels, but my players deserve to enjoy it and I give them all credit. I think we deserve this title because we have played the best football over the course of the season. Also, I want to congratulate our rivals Budućnost who played brilliantly in the second part of the season and made us play even better." Deposed champions Budućnost ended the season with a 2-2 draw against FK Jezero, with coach Miodrag Ješić handing in his resignation after the game.
