The XXXIII Ordinary UEFA Congress voted for nine seats on the UEFA Executive Committee for the 2009-2013 period, with eight of the positions available for four-year terms and one position for a two-year term.

The XXXIII Ordinary UEFA Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark, voted on Wednesday for nine seats on the UEFA Executive Committee for the 2009-2013 period, with eight positions available for four-year terms and one position for a two-year term.

The term of office for Mr Varanavicius is a two-year period.

European FIFA Executive Committee members
In addition, four European members of the FIFA Executive Committee were (re-)elected for the 2009-2013 period:

Honorary members
Outgoing members Viacheslav Koloskov, Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder, Per Ravn Omdal and Giangiorgio Spiess were made honorary members of UEFA.

HatTrick update
The Congress received an update on the UEFA HatTrick Programme 2008-12 (HatTrick II) for the promotion of football projects, whereby €2.5m will be made available to each association for investment projects and a maximum of €1.3m per year, per national association, for solidarity payments over the four-year period. Some €25m is to be made available for education purposes.
