Iván Córdoba's added-time strike earned FC Internazionale Milano a last-gasp 3-2 victory at Reggina Calcio after the home side had hit back from 2-0 down to draw level eight minutes into the second half.

Maicon opener
Inter started well and, after Ricardo Quaresma had hit the post early on, Maicon broke the deadlock following a neat pass from Zlatan Ibrahimović with eight minutes gone. Patrick Vieira doubled the lead midway through the first half, but Reggina quickly forced their way back into the game, Francesco Cozza scoring with a brilliant 34th-minute drive from outside the box. Eight minutes after the break, the home side struck again thanks to another fine drive, this time by Franco Brienza. Inter pushed forward in search of victory and both Quaresma and Hernán Crespo went close before Córdoba hit the late winner to end a sequence of two successive goalless draws. Victory takes Inter top by a point from Udinese Calcio, who host Genoa CFC on Sunday, and SSC Napoli, who are away to AC Milan.

Del Piero shines
Juventus climbed to fifth after a 2-0 win at home to AS Roma, who slumped to their fourth successive defeat and remain just two points off the bottom. Alessandro del Piero and Marco Marchionni got the goals for Claudio Ranieri's side, who are now just three points behind Inter and warmed up for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League showdown with Real Madrid CF with a fourth win in a row in all competitions. In a pulsating match, both sides created early chances, Roma defender Christian Panucci having a shot deflected on to the post before Del Piero opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick on 38 minutes. The veteran then set up the second three minutes after the restart, sending Marchionni free to lob Roma goalkeeper Doni and seal the points.
