Lavezzi winner
Stuck in mid-table before the day began, Juve looked set to improve their standing after taking the lead just past the hour mark at the Stadio San Paolo, Amauri breaking the deadlock by meeting Christian Poulsen's cross from the right with a wonderful right-footed volley. Their lead lasted no more than four minutes, however, with Marek Hamšík heading in Ezequiel Lavezzi's centre from close range to bring the hosts level. Buoyed by that strike, Napoli then took all three points when Argentinian forward Lavezzi buried a low shot after pouncing on Dario Knežević's poor clearance with ten minutes left.
Campagnolo dismissal
That propelled the Azzurri into first place on 14 points ahead of Sunday's games, with a group of teams a single point further back. S.S. Lazio, Udinese Calcio and FC Internazionale Milano will all be hoping to regain the initiative before the weekend is out, while Fiorentina moved on to 13 points thanks to their resounding home win earlier in the day. The Viola attacked from the off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and took the lead when Reggina goalkeeper Andrea Campagnolo was shown a straight red card for felling Mario Alberto Santana in the box in the 38th minute. Giampaolo Pazzini made no mistake from the spot against substitute custodian Christian Puggioni.
Neat finish
The goalscorer was replaced by Gilardino on 70 minutes, and the former AC Milan forward wasted little time making his mark. Having beaten the offside trap, Gilardino doubled the lead with a neat low finish 15 minutes from the end, before wrapping things up six minutes later by heading a raking pass from Massimo Gobbi over the advancing Puggioni and stroking the ball into the empty net.
