Pipped by England
Erika Vázquez, Spain's top scorer in qualifying with five goals, is among the 21 names for the tie, in which Quereda's side are at home first. Also included are Verónica Boquete and Sonia Bermúdez, who scored in the 2-2 home draw against England on 2 October that gave the visitors automatic qualification at Spain's expense. They last took part in the play-offs in 2001, losing 10-3 on aggregate to Denmark, but four years before they qualified for the only time with a 3-2 overall defeat of England and went on to the semi-finals. Spain are at home in the first leg before travelling to Volendam.
