Kalmar in flux amid Swedish reshuffle

Members

With the halfway point in the Swedish season approaching, league leaders Kalmar FF are among a number of sides having to deal with changes of personnel.

'Time for a change'
Four points clear of IF Elfsborg at the top of the table, Kalmar have sold their top striker César Santin to FC København. The 27-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract in the Danish capital, having scored 41 goals in 131 games for Kalmar since his arrival in Sweden in 2004. "I've really enjoyed my time at Kalmar but I felt that it was time for a change," he said.

Elfsborg changes
While Kalmar are dealing with the loss of César Santin, Elfsborg are looking to two new signings to give their campaign a lift, with forward Lasse Nilsson arriving on loan from AS Saint-Etienne and youngster Jesper Florén returning to Sweden after a spell with the AFC Ajax youth team. Level on 28 points with Elfsborg, Hammarby have loaned striker Olof Guterstam from IF Brommapojkarna and brought in South African forward Nathan Paulse from Ajax Cape Town along with experienced midfielder Fredrik Söderström.

Djurgården adjust
Further down the table, AIK Solna have sold Khari Stephenson to Alesunds BK, while Lucas Valdemarín has returned to his native Argentina and Liberian Dulee Johnson is expected to join Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC. UEFA Cup contenders Djurgårdens IF have signed Johan Oremo from Gefle IF while Prince Ikpe Ekong and Patrik Haginge have arrived from GAIS Göteborg and Örebero SK respectively. Sölvi Ottesen has joined Danish side SønderjyskE on loan. GAIS have signed South Americans Reuben Ayarna, Pablo and Matão.

Back to Croatia
Halmstads BK have recruited promsing youngster Emil Salomonsson, and released Martin Fribrock to Esbjerg fB. Hampered by injuries in the spring, Malmö FF have brought in Robert Åhman-Persson from Viborg FF and Mike Jensen on loan from Bröndby, although Behrang Safari has left the club to join FC Basel 1893. Örebro SK have tempted goalkeeper John Alvbåge back from Danish side Viborg FF, but have lost a striker as Bosnia-Herzegovnian Nedim Halilović has sought a fresh challenge at HNK Rijeka in Croatia.
