Arsenal FC have announced that full-back Bacary Sagna has signed a "new long-term contract" with the London club.

Extension
Sagna, 25, joined Arsène Wenger's team last summer after three seasons with AJ Auxerre and despite being just 12 months into his original deal, has been offered improved terms. The club have not disclosed the exact nature of the agreement, but reports in the English media have suggested the French international has signed on for a further two years until 2014.

'Looking forward'
Capped twice by Les Bleus, Sagna impressed in his debut campaign in England, making 29 Premier League appearances and a further seven in the UEFA Champions League until his season was curtailed by an ankle injury in March. "Everyone at the club is looking forward to Bacary's continued contribution in the forthcoming years," read a statement on Arsenal's website.
