Italian champions FC Internazionale Milano have handed new contracts to defender Walter Samuel and third-choice goalkeeper Paolo Orlandoni.

Knee injury
The 30-year-old centre-back Samuel has signed on until 2012 despite still recovering from a serious knee injury which limited him to 12 appearances in Serie A and five in the UEFA Champions League this term. He joined Inter in 2005 from Real Madrid CF after four previous seasons in Italy with AS Roma.

Inter comeback
The 35-year-old Orlandoni, who played two league games this term, has extended his Nerazzurri career till the end of the 2008/09 campaign. A product of Inter's youth system, he left San Siro in 1991 but rejoined from Piacenza Calcio in 2005 having spent much of his career in Serie B or Serie C1. So far, he has made three outings during his second Inter spell, having managed none in the first.
