Merciless display
Les Bleues were looking to bounce back from their last competitive result, a 1-0 reverse in Iceland four months ago. But they now only trail Iceland on head-to-head record after a merciless display of finishing which began when Lilas Traïkia broke the deadlock seven minutes in and Camille Abily added another midway through the half.
Lyon contribution
Three Olympique Lyonnais players scored in a four-minute spell around the hour as Louisa Nécib, Abily and substitute Elodie Thomis found the target. Thomis scored again on 68 minutes and Gaétane Thiney and Elise Bussaglia swiftly added further goals for France, who visit Slovenia on Wednesday. Serbia, who are now six points off the top but level with Greece and Slovenia next face the latter on 26 April.
