Martinkova opener
The Czech Republic made a positive start at the Štruncovy sady stadium in Plzen and took the lead through Irena Martinkova on 18 minutes. Spain forward Adriana Martín drew the visitors level in the 36th and although the section leaders established a late advantage, Eva Knavova making it 2-1 with 12 minutes left, Vanessa had the final say at the death.
Unbeaten trio
Dušan Žovinec's side top Group 1 with seven points, one ahead of England who recorded their second succesive 4-0 qualifying victory when seeing off Belarus today. Spain, on four points, are also unbeaten and use up their game in hand on the Czechs at home to England on 25 November.
