Inzaghi handed fresh task at Atalanta

Atalanta BC have acquired the services of the 31-year-old former Italy international striker Simone Inzaghi on a one-season loan from Serie A rivals S.S. Lazio.

Atalanta BC have signed former Italy international Simone Inzaghi on a one-season loan from S.S. Lazio.

New role
The move means the 31-year-old striker, who won the last of his three international caps in 2003, leaves Rome after eight years with Lazio, though he did have a brief loan spell at UC Sampdoria in 2004/05. Inzaghi started out at Piacenza Calcio alongside elder brother Filippo, and made his Serie A debut in 1998/99. Part of the 1999/00 Scudetto-winning side, Inzaghi's first-team chances at the Stadio Olimpico have diminished over the past two seasons, during which he has made just 12 substitute appearances. Both Lazio and Atalanta started the new Serie A season with draws, against Torino FC and Reggina Calcio respectively.
