Slovenian comeback
Having taken control of the group with wins against France and Serbia in June, Iceland looked in good shape to reach the finals in Finland and took the lead five minutes in today through Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir. But Slovenia, whose previous results in the group were a 5-0 home loss to Serbia and 6-0 reverse in France, were on level terms on 13 minutes through Manja Benak, and took the lead seconds later as Anja Milenkovič converted from the penalty spot.
France visit
Slovenia are now fourth in the group and will hope for another shock on 31 October at home to France. Iceland, three points ahead of Les Bleues but having played a game more, return to action in Serbia on 28 May.
