Walter Pandiani has a fresh challenge at CA Osasuna after finalising his switch from RCD Espanyol on a three-year contract.

Prolific form
The 31-year-old Uruguayan striker was a revelation for UEFA Cup finalists Espanyol last season, scoring eleven goals in 14 games in the competition. In 18 months in Barcelona, he scored eight goals in 52 league games. He has represented two other Spanish clubs, having played for RC Deportivo La Coruña between 2000 and 2005, aside from the 2002/03 season on loan at RCD Mallorca. He spent a year in England at Birmingham City FC before returning to the Primera División to sign for Espanyol in January 2006. Osasuna will have a new-look attack next season after already acquiring CG Tarragona forward Javier Portillo and Switzerland striker Xavier Margairaz from FC Zürich. Espanyol have also loaned 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder Eduardo Costa to Grêmio FPA in his homeland for next season.
