High hopes
Gençlerbirliği have agreed terms with Fuat Çapa as they look to improve on their sixth-place finish this season. He is the first Turkish coach to gain the UEFA Pro Licence and had been working in Belgium for four years. He will be assisted by Özcan Bizati, Mustafa Kaplan and goalkeeping coach Adnan Öztekin. Çapa said: "Gençlerbirliği are well known in Europe for their run in the UEFA Cup three seasons ago. We have the same goals."
Briegel back
Gaziantepspor, who finished eleventh, have turned to 43-year-old Mesut Bakkal, who had been in charge of Gençlerbirliği before standing down in May. Bakkal, who has a two-year contract, said: "We will have a team that works hard all over the pitch." He will be assisted by Hayati Soydaş, Temur Atalay and Turgay Keskin. Ankaragücü have gone for former Albania coach Hans-Peter Briegel, who has previously worked at Beşiktaş JK and Trabzonspor, to better their 13th-place finish. The 51-year-old will be assisted by former club captain Hakan Kutlu.
