CF OS Belenenses have begun a major overhaul of their squad as they prepare to improve on their fifth-place finish in Portugal next season and compete in the UEFA Cup.
Carlitos departure
The Restelo club, who were also runners-up in the domestic cup, will lose the 30-year-old winger Carlitos, who is leaving for personal reasons while there are a number of other comings and goings. Brazilian midfield trio Roma, Mancuso and Sandro Gaúcho along with Portuguese midfielder Pinheiro and defender José Sousa are all on the way out. The club have though handed new deals to Brazilian defenders Amaral and Nivaldo, and Portuguese winger Cândido Costa.
