Lino to live the dream with Porto

Attacking full-back Lino has joined FC Porto from A. Académica de Coimbra after the 29-year-old Brazilian caught the eye during his first season in Portugal.

Attacking full-back Lino described signing for Portuguese champions FC Porto as "a dream come true" when he was unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

'Dream come true'
Lino, whose full name is Dorvalino Alves Maciel, has agreed a two-year deal with the Estádio do Dragão club after the Brazilian impressed at left-back for A. Académica de Coimbra in the 2006/07 Liga season, making 29 appearances and scoring five goals. "I am delighted because this is a dream come true," said Lino, who turns 30 on Friday.

Late bloomer
"I wanted to play for a big European club and Porto are one of the giants," continued the player who only arrived in Europe last summer from EC Juventude in his homeland, after earlier spells with Figueirense FC, São Paulo FC and Fluminense FC. "I would like to repay the trust Porto have put in me and I want to maintain the high standard I set with Coimbra." New team-mate and compatriot Adriano added: "He is a player who causes problems up front. He was very dangerous on the left flank when we played Académica in Coimbra. He even scored a goal. He is a quality player."
