Abily opener
New France coach Bruno Bini celebrated his 100th day at the helm in style as his charges humbled Slovenia by the same scoreline to which Greece were subjected on 11 April. Les Bleues were on the front foot from the start but had to wait until the half-hour mark before breaking the deadlock, courtesy of French footballer of the year Camille Abily. Fellow midfielder Elise Bussaglia doubled the advantage seven minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead.
Lattaf double
Having lost 5-0 at home against Serbia on 5 May, Slovenia were similarly overrun in the second half, with Manja Benak's own goal six minutes into the second half paving the way for Hoda Lattaf's double strike and Gaétane Thiney’s first competitive goal with the senior side. France lead the section with six points and will travel to Iceland on 16 June, while pointless Slovenia welcome the island nation on 26 August.
