Article body
While England and Spain revel in tight title races, the finish in Montenegro threatens to rival both those nations after a dramatic weekend.
Solitary strike
In front of a full house yesterday, FK Buducnost returned to the top of the table at the expense of their chief rivals FK Zeta with a 1-0 derby victory in Podgorica. The hero for the home team was Milan Djurisić who struck from close range after a perfect assist from Nikola Vujović. Although Buducnost will feel they could have added to their tally, all that mattered was the three points. The win moved them two points above Zeta with nine rounds to go in the inaugural Montenegrin championship.
'Great game'
It was a thrilling debut for Buducnost coach Bozo Vuković, who only took charge of the club on Wednesday after the resignation of Branislav Milačić. "My players showed a winning mentality and played a great game," he said. "This is their victory, I just try to convince them they have quality and to believe in themselves. It is too early to speak about the title. We must play at this level every game if we want to stay first." His opposite number Dejan Vukicević had praise for the victors. "Buducnost were a much better team and deserved to win," he said. "But the championship race is far from decided, both teams have a lot tough matches ahead."
