Fabien Barthez has decided to part company with Ligue 1's bottom side FC Nantes Atlantique with immediate effect after being confronted by a group of supporters.

'Crossed the line'
The former France goalkeeper was accosted while trying to drive away from La Beaujoire following Nantes' 2-0 defeat against Stade Rennais FC on Saturday. "I don't feel secure over there anymore," said the 35-year-old. "Being booed during a game is something I can cope with, but what happened crossed the line. I will not go back there again." Barthez came out of retirement in January to help Nantes stay in Ligue 1. With four games left, Les Canaris are still bottom of the table, eight points adrift of OGC Nice and safety.
