Stade Rennais FC have lost centre-back Grégory Bourillon for their push for UEFA Cup qualification after a serious knee injury ruled him out for the season.
Fine season
The 22-year-old was hurt in Saturday's goalless draw at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and tests have confirmed cruciate ligament damage. Bourillon, who impressed for France at last summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals, had been enjoying a fine season having been the Rennes' most used player with 23 appearances. Despite his age, he has already played 114 times for the club since his breakthrough in the 2002/03 season. Rennes are tenth in Ligue 1, five points off second place.
