Key player
The 29-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract running until summer 2010 after passing a medical at Upton Park yesterday. Formerly with Sporting Clube de Portugal, Arsenal FC and Southampton FC, he joined Fulham FC in 2000 - initially on loan - helping them to promotion and has been one of their key players in the Premiership ever since.

Relegation concern
Capped 25 times by Portugal, Boa Morte becomes Alan Curbishley's first signing as West Ham manager as he attempts to steer his new club away from relegation trouble. "I wouldn't have signed if I didn't think we could avoid relegation," Boa Morte added. "I definitely believe we can improve, and I am excited about the challenge that is ahead." Yesterday Fulham added their own experienced attacking newcomer after signing Vincenzo Montella on loan from AS Roma.
