Disappointment
Pardew took West Ham to promotion in 2004/05 and earned them a UEFA Cup berth as FA Cup finalists last season, but their form this term has been poor despite the high-profile signings of Argentina's Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tévez. The London club were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by US Città di Palermo in the first round and dropped into the Premiership's bottom three after Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Bolton Wanderers FC. The 45-year-old was previously in charge of Reading FC. West Ham were recently taken over by UEFA Executive Committee member Eggert Magnusson.
