RC Deportivo La Coruña have taken Fabián Estoyanoff on loan from Valencia CF for the 2006/07 season. The Uruguayan international midfielder joined Valencia in the summer of 2005 but was loaned out to Cádiz CF for the entirity of the subsequent campaign.
'Full commitment'
The 23-year-old said: "Our primary objective is to get into Europe next season. I can't promise to score lots of goals but I will give the team my full commitment." Although they are a familiar face on the European scene, Deportivo failed to qualify for any UEFA competition after finishing eighth in the Primera División last season.
Seven signings
This relative disappointment has prompted a major overhaul of the squad with coach Joaquín Caparrós having made seven signings already this summer. The others are strikers Riki, Rodolfo Bodipo and Cristian Hidalgo, midfielders Pablo Álvarez and Juan Rodríguez, and defender Alberto Lopo.
