RC Celta de Vigo have started strengthening for next season's UEFA Cup by snapping up Spain midfielder Antonio Guayre from Villarreal CF.
High hopes
Celta say the 26-year-old has agreed a three-year contract and will move on a free transfer after five seasons at El Madrigal. The Galician side, who returned to the top flight for the 2005/06 campaign, are back in European football after finishing sixth in the Primera División. "I've come from Villarreal who have also been playing in Europe and I hope I can get the continuity I didn't get there," Guayre said. "What I want to do is play, and if Celta have shown the interest to sign me then I don't want to let them down."
