'Big ambition'
The 28-year-old winger, who has 60 Denmark caps, scoring five goals for his country, said: "I feel that FCK have the potential to go far in Europe. The club's big ambition appeals to me and the environment here seems perfect." København coach Staale Solbakken added: "In my opinion Jesper Grønkjær possesses exactly the qualities we need in our team. He is good at breaking through defences, he has a lot of international experience and he can play on the right side as well as on the left."
Danish wanderer
A fast, skilful winger, Grønkjær started his career in the northwest of Denmark with Thisted IK before moving to Aalborg BK. He left Denmark in 1998 to play for AFC Ajax, Chelsea FC, Birmingham City FC, Club Atlético de Madrid and finally Stuttgart.
