Seitaridis joins Atlético newcomers

Club Atlético de Madrid have signed Greek international full-back Giourkas Seitaridis from Russian side FC Dinamo Moskva on a four-year contract.

Fifth signing
The 25-year-old, who helped Greece triumph at UEFA EURO 2004™, passed a medical this afternoon to become Atlético's fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Mariano Pernía, Zé Castro, Sergio Agüero and Costinha, a team-mate of Seitaridis during his time in Moscow.

Persuasive powers
Former Atlético striker Demis Nikolaidis helped persuade Seitaridis to move to Spain. "I spoke to him about Atlético and he told me great things about the club," said Seitaridis. "Also, Costinha and I are good friends and when he signed for Atlético, he advised me to do the same." Seitaridis previously played for PAS Giannina FC, Panathinaikos FC and FC Porto.
