Club Atlético de Madrid's preparations for next season continue at breakneck speed after signing Georgios Seitaridis and Costinha from FC Dinamo Moskva for an undisclosed fee.
Long-term commitment
The double swoop comes just 24 hours after the Spanish side captured Argentinian starlet Sergio Agüero in a deal worth €16m, the most expensive of an influx of new faces at the Vicente Valderón in the past two days. Greek international defender Seitaridis, 24, has agreed a four-year deal subject to a medical next week after failing to settle since moving to Dinamo from FC Porto in 2004, for a then Russian record fee of €10m.
Wholesale changes
The 31-year-old Costinha made an identical switch at the same time but, like Seitaridis, he failed to make an impression in the Russian capital. He hopes to rediscover his form at Atlético having committed to two seasons as the Primera División outfit embark on wholesale changes following the signings of Mariano Pernía, Zé Castro and Agüero yesterday.
