R. Standard de Liège are on the lookout for a new coach after Dominique D'Onofrio declined the option of a contract extension following talks with technical director Michel Preud'homme.
Different role
The 53-year-old had been in charge since 2002 and led Standard to a second-placed finish in the Belgian First Division this season - and qualification for the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. However, he is expected to be offered a different role at the club.
Resignation postponed
D'Onofrio had wanted to step down last summer after Standard came third in the title race but was persuaded to carry on after his most favoured potential successor, Erik Gerets, decided to move to Turkey and Galatasaray SK.
