Three-year deal
The 50-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Palermo, who he led to promotion to Serie A in 2003/04 and then to a sixth-placed finish in the top flight and UEFA Cup qualification in the following campaign. He previously coached Vicenza Calcio - winning the Coppa Italia in 1996/97 - Udinese Calcio and Bologna FC. At Palermo, Guidolin will replace Giuseppe Papadopulo, who took over from Luigi Del Neri midway through last season to lead the team to eighth place in Serie A. Laszlo Bölöni has been widely tipped to replace Guidolin at Monaco.
