Dynamo plump for promising Eshchenko

Russian Under-21 international defender Andrei Eshchenko has signed a five-year contract with FC Dynamo Kyiv.

Demianenko delighted
The 22-year-old right-back has impressed since joining the club on loan from Russian side FC Khimki in February, and Dynamo coach Anatoli Demianenko has moved swiftly to secure his services on a long-term basis. "We were going to talk about a permanent contract in the summer but Andriy has quickly become an integral part of our team, so we decided not to wait," Demianenko said.

'Adapted well'
Eshchenko, who is now tied to the club until 2011, was delighted at the deal, having quickly settled in Ukraine. "I've adapted well at Dynamo and feel completely at home in Kiev," said Eshchenko. "It's not very often you find such a tranquil place in the stormy world of football."
