Romanian First Division leaders FC Dinamo 1948 Bucuresti have appointed their fourth coach in as many months with Florin Marin replacing Ion Marin, who has been dismissed after only a month in the job. The new coach has been awarded a contract until 25 May.
'Crisis situation'
Ion Marin took charge of just four league games which resulted in two wins, a draw and a loss to maintain Dinamo's position at the top of the table. He followed Esteban Vigo, who himself took over from the sacked Ioan Andone during the winter break. Dinamo drew 1-1 with FC Politehnica Iasi on Saturday, allowing FC Steaua Bucuresti to join them on 39 points. "We had to find the best solution for a crisis situation," said club president Nicolae Badea.
Dual role
That solution is 53-year-old Florin Marin, who spent six months in joint charge of Dinamo in 2002 alongside Cornel Dinu. Marin has been head coach of the Romanian Under-21 team since January 2005, and will hold both jobs until the end of the season. Ion Marin will take charge of the Dinamo reserve team, which plays in the second division.
