CA Osasuna will be without Valdo López for the rest of the season after the striker suffered a serious groin injury in last night's Primera División match with Real Sociedad de Fútbol.

Accidental collision
The 24-year-old had to be replaced after 52 minutes of Osasuna's 2-0 victory after taking a blow to the stomach in a collision with Real's John Viafara. Hospital tests subsequently revealed the full extent of the groin injury that will sideline the former Spanish Under-21 international until the summer.

Broken ankle
The setback is Valdo's second major injury of the campaign following the broken ankle he sustained against Real Madrid CF in December, which kept him out for two months. It is also a blow to Osasuna's hopes of claiming a UEFA Champions League berth, with the Pamplona club currently second in the Spanish top flight, 12 points behind leaders FC Barcelona.
