The 32-year-old left-winger spent four seasons at Lille, having previously been at northern neighbours RC Lens, with whom he won the French title in 1997/98. Brunel had already announced he was to leave the league runners-up after rejecting their offer of an extension.
Agreement given
A Sochaux statement read: "The player has given his agreement to Sochaux. The only thing missing now is his signing, which will occur on Monday."
