Coach Cedomir Djoincevic has joined newly-promoted Serbo-Montenegrin outfit FK Rad. Djoincevic departs troubled FK Železnik to take the post, less than a month after leading the side to the Serbo-Montenegrin Cup - their first-ever trophy - and a place in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round. But with finances tight, Železnik have been forced to renounce their European berth as they cannot afford the travelling costs, and Djoincevic has opted to sign a two-year deal with the First League newcomers.

Russian Premier-Liga team FC Torpedo Moskva have signed Bosnia-Herzegovina defender Emir Spahic from mid-table rivals FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. The 24-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with the capital club after impressing since his arrival in Russia at the start of 2004. Spahic, who had been linked with FC Dinamo Moskva, is currently injured but is expected to make his Torpedo debut on 2 July against FC Rubin Kazan.

Former Paris Saint-Germain FC coach Luis Fernandez has signed a one-year deal to coach Qatar club Al-Rayyan. The 45-year-old, whose finest hour as a coach came when he led PSG to UEFA Cup Winners' Cup glory in 1996, has been out of work since steering RCD Espanyol to Spanish Primera División safety 13 months ago. A member of the France side that won the 1984 UEFA European Championship, Fernandez lists Athletic Club Bilbao and AS Cannes among his former coaching jobs.
