Villa move
Villa joins UEFA Intertoto Cup entrants Valencia for €12m having been top scorer at Zaragoza for the last two seasons and made his international debut for Spain in February against San Marino. Valencia president Juan Bautista Soler said: "Villa, at 23, is one of the best strikers in Spanish football."
Regueiro arrives
Meanwhile, Uruguayan international Reguerio arrives on a free transfer, the 26-year-old having been out of contract at Racing. Soler added: "Regueiro is an outstanding midfielder."
New quintet
Valencia coach Quique Sánchez Flores now has five new signings to choose from when Valencia enter the Intertoto Cup in the third round in mid-July, with striker Patrick Kluivert, goalkeeper Juan Luis Mora and midfielder Edu also having come to the 2003/04 Spanish champions.
