Diaz double
Rodolfo Bodipo proved the Alavés hero, quickly cancelling out Nino's 20th-minute opener before striking what proved to be the winner four minutes after the restart to move Chuchi Cos's side three points clear at the summit and ensure they can finish no lower than third. The Basque team need a point from their final game next week to secure the title.
Wins required
With one match remaining, Cádiz CF lie level in second place with RC Celta de Vigo, who were denied promotion last week after having three points deducted for fielding an ineligible player, but ahead on head-to-head record. Both sides will join Alavés in the top flight if they win on the final day. However, should they fail to do so, SD Eibar, one point behind, and RC Recreativo de Huelva, a further two points adrift, could still capitalise.
