Second spell
The 52-year-old has worked wonders at the Seville outfit since taking over from Víctor Fernández last summer. It is his second spell in charge, having first taken the helm from 1993-97 and guided Betis to a fourth-place finish in 1994/95, the highest in their recent history.
Cup chance
This time round, Ferrer has steered Betis to the Copa del Rey final and fourth position in the Spanish top flight, within touching distance of a place in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round next season, with only a trip to struggling RCD Mallorca to come on Sunday. Following the Mallorca match, the team will start preparing for the cup final against CA Osasuna at the Vicente Calderón in Madrid on Saturday 11 June.
