Finland coach Michael Käld has given a strong indication of what his final squad for UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2005™ will be by naming 20 players for the friendly against Scotland on Friday 20 May.
Experienced Mäkinen
The fixture is Finland's last before they depart for England, where they open their Group A campaign against the host nation on Sunday 5 June in Manchester. Käld has selected three goalkeepers, six defenders, seven midfielders and four forwards in his party, with Anne Mäkinen of Umeå IK the most experienced member with 88 caps. Twenty players will also travel to England.
Fleeting award
Although Finland will be expected to defeat the Scots, visiting forward Julie Fleeting will give the home side a taste of the quality likely to be on show in England this summer. The Arsenal LFC striker was yesterday voted the English Players' Player of the Year by her peers.
