Contract terminated
The 30-year-old Greek tested positive after the First Division match against FC Molenbeek Brussels Strombeek on 28 August. A B test confirmed the positive finding and Standard terminated Kaklamanos's contract, which was due to end in 2006, last month. The player's ban runs until 18 April 2005 and is likely to be extended by FIFA so it applies worldwide.
Mutu case
The world governing body recently did likewise with Adrian Mutu after he also tested positive for cocaine before being sacked by Chelsea FC. In that case, FIFA's ruling meant the punishment covered "all matches including domestic, international, friendly and official fixtures".
