A 2-0 win against FC BATE Borisov has given FC Dinamo Minsk their first Belarussian title in seven years.

A 2-0 win against FC BATE Borisov on Sunday has given FC Dinamo Minsk their first Belarussian title in seven years.

Penultimate game
The two teams went head to head in the penultimate game of the season with BATE trailing Dinamo by two points. However, the tide of fate began to turn against the 2002 champions after Oleg Strakhanovich's shot rattled Dinamo's goalpost early in the second half during the game in Minsk.

Second goal
Dinamo took the lead almost immediately afterwards as substitute Dmitri Parkhachev collected a pass from Vitali Volodenkov and fired a well-flighted shot into the far corner of the BATE goal after 63 minutes. Thirteen minutes later, the game was effectively over as Andrei Razin slipped through the BATE defence to give goalkeeper Yuri Zhevnov no chance and double his side's advantage.

Places confirmed
The result confirmed BATE's position as runners-up in the league, while a goalless draw against FC Torpedo-SKA Minsk was enough to guarantee FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk a third-place finish.
