Peter Bonde will succeed Poul Højmose as coach of the Denmark women's team when Højmose steps down after next summer's UEFA European Women's Championship in England.
'Three-year deal'
The 45-year-old Bonde, who has signed a three-year contract, has been working as an assistant to Morten Olsen, the Denmark men's team coach, at major tournaments and as a consultant in coaching department of the Danish Football Association (DBU).
'High expectations'
"We have the most talented female national squad we have had in many years," said Bonde, a former Næstved BK, Lyngby FC and Herfølge BK player. "The DBU are investing a lot of money into the women's national team and they have high expectations."
Group winners
Under Højmose, who has been in the post since 1999, Denmark qualified for the Women's Championship in style, winning seven of their eight Group 2 qualifying matches to win the section by three points from Norway. In those eight matches they scored 26 goals and conceded just four.
