Henry again
One from FC Barcelona's Ronaldinho, AC Milan's Andriy Shevchenko and Arsenal FC's Thierry Henry will be named as the world's premier player on 20 December. None of the three has won the award before, although Henry was runner-up to last year's winner Zinedine Zidane.
Coaches' choice
If France striker Henry does lift the crown next month, he will become the first player from an English club to win the prestigious prize, which has been running since 1991. FIFA will also announce the women's World Player of the Year and the Futsal World Player of the Year on the same night at the Zurich Opera House in Switzerland.
