AFC Ajax's indifferent form continued as a 2-0 defeat by PSV Eindhoven saw them slip to seven points behind the Eredivisie leaders.
Lee opener
Ajax had not won in Eindhoven for ten years, and the sequence never looked in danger of ending as PSV controlled the game from the first whistle. Their opening goal, however, had more than a hint of luck about it as goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont let a harmless looking shot from Young-Pyo Lee slip through his hands five minutes before half-time.
Lobont injury
It was Lee's first league goal for PSV and the South Korean turned provider four minutes after the break, teeing up John de Jong for an easy header past Lobont. The goalkeeper's afternoon went from bad to worse later in the half when he was carried off with suspected knee ligament damage.
Goor double
His absence would be a further blow for Ronald Koeman, whose side now lie sixth, seven points adrift of PSV and Feyenoord, also winners on Sunday. Romeo Castelen opened the scoring against RKC Waalwijk at the De Kuip stadium after just ten minutes, before three goals in the last 24 minutes, from Dirk Kuijt and a Bart Goor double gave the scoreline a more one-sided appearance.
Huntelaar goals
The gap between the leaders and third is now four points after nearest rivals FC Utrecht lost 2-1 at SC Heerenveen. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored two in three minutes with the game nearing its conclusion, before Richal Leitoe grabbed a consolation for Utrecht in added time.
Alkmaar third
The defeat allowed AZ Alkmaar to move up to third after Co Adriaanse's side eased to a 3-0 win against SBV Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday. Michael Buskermolen broke deadlock on the half hour, before goals from Barry van Galen and Kenneth Perez sealed the win at the start of the second period.
Koné hat-trick
Roda JC recorded the biggest win of the weekend when Arouna Koné hit a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory against FC Den Bosch. There were six goals at NEC Nijmegen, who drew 3-3 against NAC Breda, and also Tilburg, where home side Willem II defeated FC Groningen 4-2. After the visitors had twice equalised, Raymond Victoria and Martin Reuser scored two in the last 13 minutes as Willem moved into the top half of the table.
Strugglers lose
Meanwhile, bottom side De Graafschap lost 2-1 against ADO Den Haag, and remain a point behind RBC Roosendaal, who were also defeated, 1-0 at home by FC Twente.
