Having beaten group winners France 5-2 in Dijon last week, the Russians scored four times without reply against Hungary to cement second place in the pool. Russia will now advance to a play-off against Iceland or Finland to decide which nation qualifies for next summer's final tournament in England.
Two for Letiouchova
Olga Letiouchova opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, but it was a strong second-half showing which saw them impress at the Stroitel stadium in Selyatino. Natalia Barbachina doubled Russia's lead in the 54th minute and goals from Elena Fomina (66) and Letiouchova (70) completed the scoring.
